Description
Sophora godleyi ‘Goldie’s Mantle’ is a compact, bushier cultivar of Sophora godleyi, distinguished by its pendulous branches that create a soft, graceful silhouette. Its dense growth habit makes it highly versatile and well-suited to a variety of landscape applications, from garden borders to feature plantings.
From mid-spring to early summer, it produces bright yellow flowers that attract nectar-feeding birds and add vibrant seasonal colour to the landscape. Like the species, it is evergreen and native to New Zealand, offering year-round foliage and ecological value.
This distinctive cultivar was selected by John Goldie from a tree found near Ōhingaiti, New Zealand, and has since become a popular choice for those seeking a more compact and ornamental form of Sophora godleyi.
