Description

Chamaecyparis Bonsai, 400mm High

This expertly styled Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, known as Port Orford cedar or Lawson’s cypress, is a species of conifer in the genus Chamaecyparis, family Cupressaceae. It is native to Oregon and northwestern California, and grows from sea level up to 1,500 metres in the valleys of the Klamath Mountains, often along streams.

Standing at approximately 400mm from the top of the pot, this tree has been meticulously trained into an informal upright style, featuring a strong central trunk and beautifully spaced, balanced foliage pads. The natural movement and maturity of the trunk give this piece a commanding yet graceful feel, making it a perfect choice for collectors who appreciate conifer bonsai with refined character and lasting appeal.

These trees are ever evolving, and the tree will change as trimming and shaping occurs.
