Description
Developed right here in New Zealand before 1989, Acer negundo ‘Kelly’s Gold’ is a striking deciduous maple known for its vibrant golden-yellow spring foliage. This brightens to a fresh lime-green in summer before turning a soft pale-yellow in autumn. With its neat, upright growth habit, it’s an excellent choice for illuminating darker corners of your garden. This hardy and relatively fast-growing tree produces inconspicuous yellow-green flowers in early to mid-spring. While it prefers full sun and protection from strong winds, and its seeds are toxic to horses, ‘Kelly’s Gold’ demonstrates good tolerance for air pollution, drought, and even occasional waterlogged soils once established.
