Description
Acer palmatum ‘Ukon’ is a deciduous cultivar that features yellow-green leaves in spring, which gradually become more green throughout the summer before turning a vibrant yellow in autumn. The green bark on its young stems provides winter interest. With an upright growth habit and a spreading canopy, it is an attractive addition to garden designs. This cultivar prefers moist, well-drained soils but can be prone to leaf scorch in excessive sun, wind, or drought. It is cold-hardy and can also be cultivated as bonsai.
