Description
Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii ‘Jermyns’ is a vigorous cultivar with a broad, conical growth habit. It is characterized by its attractive white bark that exfoliates in horizontal, papery layers. Its dark green leaves provide a lush canopy during the growing season and transform into a beautiful golden-yellow in autumn. This cultivar originally came to Messrs Hillier in the United Kingdom from a Belgian nursery as Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii, with the uniformity of the plants suggesting they had been propagated vegetatively.
