Description
Pink Cloud’ is a charming cultivar of the Taiwanese cherry (Prunus campanulata) that forms a delightful rounded tree with a neat head and spreading branches, making it a great shade tree for smaller gardens. From late winter to early spring, clusters of soft-pink, single flowers hang gracefully from its branches, offering a nectar-rich source that attracts birds. This cultivar is also an excellent street tree and is sterile, meaning it doesn’t produce fruit. In autumn, its leaves turn attractive shades of yellow, orange, and red. The parent species, Prunus campanulata, is native to China and Taiwan, and ‘Pink Cloud’ was developed in New Zealand.
